Architectural Designer
Location: Graniteville, Vermont, USA
Position: Full Time
The Architectural Design position at Rock of Ages will be responsible for designing and planning natural stone Mausoleum and architectural projects for our clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop designs that meet their requirements. You will be expected to create detailed drawings and specifications, as well as oversee the process to ensure that the final product meets the design standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and develop architectural designs and concepts for various projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure design integrity and quality.
- Produce detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information necessary for design development.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success.
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences and provide design solutions accordingly.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the Stone/Mining Industry would be considered an asset.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD drawing experience with Auto CAD and SolidWorks or similar software.
- Strong math background including geometry.
- Experience with Microsoft office products, specifically Excel and Word.
- Experience in Designing, planning, and supervising the construction of granite mausoleums and memorials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with rendering software.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and do material take-offs.
- Experience with template and pattern making.
- Experience developing design proposals, preparing drawings, and managing project teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, contractors, and cemetery personnel.

- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
