JOB SUMMARY:
Rock of Ages, a division of Polycor, has an immediate opening for a CNC Operator, 2nd shift. The CNC Operator sets up and operates stone-cutting machinery. Duties include studying blueprints, loading/unloading of parts and programs, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for daily production of multiple CNC machines by means of loading/unloading parts, part inspection, troubleshooting, and routine machine maintenance.
- Read and interpret blueprints & drawings.
- Must have excellent basic math /shop math skills. Familiar with metric/standard conversion.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of basic measuring tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, tape measures, indicators, and gauges.
- Maintain quality and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned to meet operational and production objectives.
OTHER CAPABILITIES
- Possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
- Be able to lift 50 lb. with varying frequency.
- Must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.
- The goal is to ensure effective production and optimize procedures.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and familiarity with machining concepts, procedures and practices.
- Must be willing to work overtime hours, as needed.
- Working knowledge of Alpha-CAM and SolidWorks are a plus.
